Abacus Parenteral Drugs Limited (APDL) is the largest parenteral drug manufacturer in East Africa. We have an 11,500-square-meter state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located on 36 acres of land, which leaves ample room for expansion. We manufacture a wide range of IV fluids, including ear, eye, and nose drops, and sterile water for injection and other injectables, We employ best-in-class blow-fill seal technology. This technology enables bottle-forming, filling, and sealing to happen at a single stage, minimizing the risk of product contamination, The factory employs over 200 highly qualified and experienced personnel across key disciplines.
Production Output
The facility is equipped with the latest Blow Fill Seal (BFS) machinery from Weiler Rommelag Engineering-USA and Germany which delivers a total of 160 million units of Large Volume Parenteral (LVP) solutions and Small Volume Parenteral (SVP) solutions annually. Other Production, Sterilization and Packaging machinery have been sourced from India, France and Japan.
Environment
A high performance Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system is in place and operational providing a controlled environment, with prescribed temperature, pressure, humidity air changes for each room
